Epic Weapon

Tonight I finished Beodin’s Epic quest for his Fabled Claws of Khati Sha. Thanks go out to Nindakin, Reddranth, Neecrol, Colossus and Gaealiege for the help along the way. The quest was very long and sometimes difficult. I was worried about the final solo fight against the Ogre Viax because I heard it was difficult. I learned all I could about it before the encounter and even re-did some AA line with Colossus’s suggestions for the fight. The fight was long but in the end I never fell below 75% health using spiritual stance and my Stag warder spamming the two heals I had. I’m sure my max aa’s helped too. Mythicals are next!

Beast-mode!

MMO Viking is back! After a long computer issue related problem I’m back to Norrath with a new computer. An ASUS G74S Gaming Laptop which screams and I love. But best of all I’m back and playing a Barbarian Beastlord complete with a White-wolf warder of course, just like the old days in Everquest 1! Huzzah!! I’ve been back a few weeks and just recently got Beodin the Beastlord to Level 90 with max AA’s 320. Next on the To-do List is getting Beodin his Epic Claws. This latest expansion in EQ2 has MMO Viking written all over it. In addition to bringing back the Beastlord class it has player made dungeon building and you can reforge your weapons with a bunch of different particle effects. I’m thinking about doing the Wurmslayer Heritage quest and slapping a awesome effect on it. I’m having a blast so far. 2012 is going to be fun in Norrath.

Everquest 2 burnout

It’s been a few months since my last update. I really enjoyed Destiny of Velious but I have finished almost all the solo stuff and a lot of the group stuff in the expansion. The last couple months I’ve been a little burned out on EQ2 and haven’t been playing much. It’s from a variety of reasons. Capping Beoromir’s level and AA points, working at my job longer hours, going to the beach more often, buying a new huge TV and playing a lot of XBOX 360 on it, and running out of content that I haven’t done. I kind of wish EQ2 had 2000 AA points like EQ1, so I could constantly be improving my character even if its only by .0000001% at a time. Hopefully I can find some more stuff that catches my interest in game to do because I want to get back to playing soon. Maybe old quests or group dungeons for upgrades on equipment. We shall see. Here’s a screenshot of Beoromir right before he and Queen Antonia Bayle have a make-out session.

Flying in Everquest 2

Tonight I finished Beoromir’s griffon quests and his little griffawn pet became a rideable griffon. I purchased the collector’s edition of Destiny of Velious that came with the alternate griffon mount which looks pretty nice. Beoromir with Reddranth, Nindakin, Neecrol and Zalamar all reached the alternate advancement cap by grinding to 300 aa’s in Sebilis today. Went fast with the double xp EQ-wide plus advancement potions. Was a very fun day of adventuring and we finished it off with a Tower of Frozen Shadows run.

Lightsaber duels

Reddranth and Beoromir square off with glowing swords. The colors remind me of lightsabers belonging to Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker and whatever jedi Samuel L. Jackson played. MMO Viking is going to stick with Beoromir as his main character and to just keep Beobo around as an alt to fart around on. I have decided to betray from evil Brigand to good Swashbuckler on Beoromir too. Mostly due to my love of AE damage. A few other benefits are I get to move to New Halas, also known as Viking-ville. And I will earn more aa points with the betrayal questline. Beoromir is currently at 226 alternate advancement points. The drawbacks are I will have to decorate a new house. I will have to acquire alot of new Master spells. I’m looking forward to the change and the learning of how to play a new class. It should be fun!

White-bearded viking

Almost Superbowl time! MMO Viking is rooting for Greenbay Packers this Superbowl. I dislike the Pittsburg Steelers due to them and the referees beating the Seattle Seahawks in Superbowl XL. Also due to Big-Ben’s douchbaggery with his trapping co-eds in bathrooms strategy. In Everquest 2 news I’m using the new EQ2 iphone app that allows you to look at characters stuff and also chat with guild and any other channel while not even in-game. Pretty cool. I’ve used it to mess with Nindakin already.

White Knight

So while adventuring with Nindakin and Neecrol, Beobo happened upon a sweet white viking helmet. Naturally I had to base his entire look on it. Also tonight while adventuring with the crew in the Hate raid zone I got this sweet shiny white and gold Fabled shield to match Beobo’s armor. It’s funny how excited I can get for playing a character if I really like the way he looks. Beobo is sporting a long white beard that you cannot see in this screenshot. Maybe next post you will see it’s magnificence.

Beobo Bronzebeard

So my alt character Dwarf Paladin Beobo Bronzebeard recently hit level 82 and I’ve been grinding aa’s since. He currently has 145 aa’s and I figure to head to level 90 after he hits 200. He is a nice change from my Brigand. Some things I like that he can do and my Brigand could not are, run into a huge crowd of mobs and mash AE buttons, wear plate mail, and heal. Big thing I miss is evac. It’s just nice to be able to evac after finishing a dungeon or after grinding somewhere. Oh and invising, I miss that sometimes. I might eventually make Beobo my main character, I haven’t decided yet. And I might switch him to Shadowknight if I do that for more utility in group when Redranth our normal group Paladin comes back from hiatus. Anyway he has been fun to play so far. We will see.

Everquest 2 Dragons

So I expanded my house limit from 800 items to 1000 items. While I was at it I bought the all the dragon plushies from the Station Store too due to a holiday double cash deal. With the added space I built some Dragon Stables for Beoromir’s Stronghold. I know dragons have wings and might be able to fly over the tiny fences but oh well. I also broke down and started an alternate character finally. Beobo the Dwarf Paladin. Beobo sticking with my Beowulf slash Lord of the Rings theme for character names. He is quite enjoyable to play. He can blast enemies from a distance with holy lightning and fight them toe to toe without having to backstab for maximum effectiveness, and he can heal! So yeah he is a lot of fun to play so far. The starting area of New Halas helps with keeping me entertained due to all the new quests. I remember back in the day Everquest 1, every race started in thier own home city. Now in EQ2 dwarves get to chose between starting in New Halas a barbarian city or Kelethin the elf city. Hell in EQ1 the wood elves and the high elves each had a different city! I understand the reasoning to have more players starting in the same area to group but I think I prefer the original Everquest way.

I enjoyed the EQ2 Frostfell (Christmas) festivities. Tons of quests with house item rewards and appearance items. The Icy Keep instance was fun to figure out with Nindakin. We ran it about a dozen times taking Neecrol through all the quests too. From the Icy Keep tokens Beoromir was able to construct a Ice Fortress outside his Freeport Stronghold. I saw a lodizal plushie on EQ2 Decorators website that I would love to get for Beoromir’s aquarium. Looked like a decent long questline. Beoromir’s Stronghold has reached its 800 items limit. I’m tempted to buy the 200 item space expander from the Station Cash. I think it’s about $12. Probably worth it to me because I enjoy that part of the game.
