Minas Tirith

Beothjor has reached the level cap of 105 and has reached Minas Tirith.   Minas Tirith is pretty awesome!  Beothjor still has a ton of stuff to work towards which is nice.  I’m still leveling my first age legendary bow and I need to get a good legendary melee weapon eventually.  I’m working on getting a bunch of factions to ally so that I can purchase the good stuff from those venders.  I’m also working on a bunch of old deeds and traits.  I even eventually will get around to leveling up my tradeskills which I have neglected completely since level 65.  Nin come back and play if you get bored of EQ2 ever.  I mean it is free to play!

Adornments Everywhere

MMO Viking has been having a lot of fun recently in Everquest 2 Altar of Malice expansion.  The wrecking crew has moved up to 1-grouping raid zones.  We’ve killed a few of the bosses so far.  Beolf has some nice new raid gloves and forearms and very nice adornment upgrades for his neck and rings.  Tonight Beolf has been harvesting for Primordial Adornment drops so far I’ve got Tiers 1 through 4.  Fun stuff.  Praise Thor!

Life is full of pain and sorrow

Well my beloved Seattle Seahawks lost Superbowl XLIX on the 1 yard line with 30 seconds left.  I am still recovering.  I give Tom Brady and the Patriots credit, they won the game.  1 yard from being back to back Superbowl Champions is tough though.  The bright side is the Seahawks crushed the Broncos in last year’s Superbowl and have a very young team so should be good for awhile.   In Everquest 2 news, Beolf the Ranger dwarf is a few pieces away from a full set of 4/4 green gem gear.  I believe he needs 10 more green gems that cost 200 Ferrin each.  Today I’ve been harvesting roots to try to get rare Hiven Roots so I can have the best poison made for Beolf to use against his many enemies.

Life is good

Life is good.  The Seahawks beat the Panthers to advance to the NFC championship game and I’ve been having fun doing Heroic Dungeons in Everquest 2 with friends and guildmates.  Friday I grouped with the gnome brigade of Reddranth the Paladin, Colossus the Beastlord and of course Nindakin the Inquisitor.  We did some contested Highkeep and some Heroic dungeons.  Best of all my Ranger Dwarf Beolf got a shiny new Fabled Bow to shoot bad guys with.  Life is good.

Ongoing adventures of Beo & Son

Beovaldr hit level 30 and Zerack level 28 while adventuring in good ole Crushbone Keep tonight.  Dead orcs everywhere!  I plan on getting Beo Jr a Gold Subscription plan so we can earn xp at the same pace.  Currently I turned my XP to alternate advancement point only until Zerack catches up to me at level 30.

Back to Everquest 2! AGAIN!!!

Well I tried quite a few MMOs to satisfy my itch.  Star Wars, Star Trek, Wildstar,  Archeage, Champions Online…  None of them worked.  So I’m back baby!  This time I’m dragging my son into playing with me and starting from level 1 with a class I’ve never played before.  Beovaldr the Dwarf Ranger.  Beo Jr is playing his favorite Everquest race and class an Iksar Necromancer named Zerack.  When he first played Everquest 1 as a young lad he chose this combo and messed around in the Field of Bone.  So I think it’s cool he is keeping up his tradition.  Currently we are level 26 and we just beat The Fallen Gate and this screenshot is us victorious at the bottom of the dungeon in The Vault of The Fallen.  Huzzah!!

Chocobo Mount !

Black Dolph did buy himself a chocobo the other day.  The greatest part is when  you mount up it plays the old chocobo music I remember from Final Fantasy 7.  MMO Viking is really looking forward to Everquest Next though.  FFXIV is entertaining at the moment but I know I’m not staying.  I plan on trying out Elder Scrolls Online but I’m crossing my fingers that I enjoy EQN more.  EQN has the pedigree and the track record of long term support.  It has the lore that I prefer over ESO.  I played Everquest for eight years, I played Everquest 2 for five years.  I am really hoping to get the same type of long term playability out of EQN.

Final Fantasy XIV !

I’m sorry for the long delay.  I kind of took the summer off.  Guild Wars 2 was fun but I couldn’t get any friends to play it with me which is weird because it’s subscription free haha.  EQ2 is over for me.  It was a great run but now I’m eagerly awaiting Everquest Next.  In the meantime MMO Viking has started playing FInal Fantasy XIV.  FFXIV is a crazy pretty game.  It’s gorgeous!  I’m loving the graphics, the music, the Japanese feel and look, the classic Final Fantasy stuff.  Parts of the game remind me off my favorite Final Fantasy games FF6, FF7, and FF8.  It has some of the same music from the games, like the victory music and the resting in an Inn music.  It has a lot of the classic Final Fantasy creatures like the floating fire bombs and chocobos.  More good news is that I have a couple friends playing it with me so I shouldn’t get bored as fast as I did in GW2.  I begged Nindakin to join me but he declined.  He says he doesn’t have enough time in the day to play EQ2, his JRPGS and FFXIV.  I say bah!  If anyone wants to join me my character’s name is Black Dolph he is a Highlander Guardian and I play on the Gilgamesh server.  Go Seahawks!

Back from hiatus

I’m back from hiatus due to moving to Kauai and all the things that needed to be done to make that happen.  I’ve been back in Norrath about a week now and with the help of The Einherjar, Beoromir earned his Fabled Brigand sword, Enervated Havoc, Blade of Treachery.  Which I mounted behind Beo’s desk.  It looks pretty awesome with purple sparklies and a rotating blade tip.  The nice thing about the Enervated is it gives your character a self buff with the effect of the sword.  That way when you upgrade to better swords, you still get the effect.  I wish they had that back in EQ1 in the day, that would of been nice.  Bravo on whoever came up with this at SOE.  Beo also finished his Dance of Metal rank 2 alternate advancement ability which should help his DPS even more.  That’s all for now.  I promise more posts soon.
